This is the first beat I ever made. I know the kick drum sounds like shit and the chorus line at the end is too long, those were unintentional fuck-ups which could have easily been prevented. I'll definitely get better at this shit. Peep this shit out, let me know what you think and wait for my instrumental CD produced entirely by yours truly summer 2009!

Oh and listen to it with headphones, it sounds better.

I dont know what the third instrument was to come in it sounded really out of place, try using more than one instrument, like one instrument as a bassline to go along with the kicks, then another on top of that that plays along but using percussion instruments or hits. Wasnt bad though i've heard alot of first beats lol, best way to get better is download and listen to instrumentals and start listening to how each of the instruments tie in with each other. Heres a good website to learn how to do different things with beats, warbeats.com in the forums.

check this beat out, it has 4 instruments total (as far as melody), guitar, bells, another perc instrument, and some vst chord, overlap some of the sounds, but without making the song sound cluttered: zSHARE - Beat 41.mp3 once you get a beat with a chord or bassline playing on it, loop it and get a perc instrument and play on top of that one.
