fastarrow BREAKING: Dipset Enforcer Arrested After 3 Year Police Hunt, Murder Charges Involving

Dipset associate Carlos Thompson was reportedly arrested in New Jersey on Friday (May 15) after being on the run from authorities and featured on "America's Most Wanted" for over three years.

Thompson was taken in by police yesterday afternoon on murder charges.

He was arrested in Sayreville after authorities received a tip that he was staying in a townhouse in the borough, police said. Thompson was arrested about 3:15 p.m. in a residence in the townhouse development. Borough police Detective Lt. Timothy Brennan and Detective Sgt. Thomas Cassidy were contacted early Friday and set up surveillance near the townhouse. They were joined by New York City police, U.S. marshals and several borough officers, who entered the townhouse and quickly apprehended Thompson, Detective Matthew Bandurski said. Thompson had apparently been leasing the Sayreville townhouse since November. A team of 14 officers participated in the arrest. (New Jersey Real-Time News)

His fugitive file has been featured on "America's Most Wanted."

When AMW aired the case of Dipset Crew enforcer Carlos Thompson on May 24, 2008, tipsters flooded our hotline with information about him. They told us he may be hiding in Brooklyn, and that his street name was "Bart Simpson." They also told us a tidbit of information that police had been keeping close to their vests: it turns out that on Halloween night 2007, Thompson was a passenger in a multi-car Manhattan crash. The driver of Thompson's car was drunk, hit a number of other vehicles and flipped over, killing another passenger. But, instead of sticking around, cops say Thompson -- a fugitive wanted for murder -- crawled out of the car, leaving his friend to die. New York police say it shows how far Thompson will go to stay on the run from his past. (America's Most Wanted)

Thompson was reportedly the 'force' behind Dipset.

A rap enforcer is being hunted for ordering a 13 year-old to kill a Harlem teen, authorities said. As muscle for the popular Dipset Crew, Thompson would travel with the performers to gigs and parties as protection against anyone with a beef. The NYPD issued an arrest warrant for Thompson in 2007 on grounds that he gave a gun to 13 year-old L'mani Delima in 2005 and told him to shoot 15-year-old Phoenix Garrett for selling Dipset Crew CDs on the street. (New York Daily News)

Another Dipset associate, King Tut, recently committed suicide after being on the run from police on felony charges.

Police say he killed himself in a taxi as suburban New York officers closed in on him. Greenburgh, N.Y., Lt. Chris McNerney says the cab carrying Tut was pulled over by police. McNerney says police ordered everyone out. The driver and a woman left the cab, but he refused. McNerney says that as police converged, the rapper shot himself in the head. (Associated Press)
