![]() Released: 02/02/93 Label: Ruthless Records 1993: The Billboard 200 (#37) 1993: Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums (#6) RIAA: Platinum Black Mafia Life was the third album by gangsta rap crew Above the Law, released on February 2, 1993; being released some time after their popular debut, Black Mafia Life proved a surprising success. Especially without Dr. Dre (who had produced their debut), the album was not widely expected to live up to expectations. Rolling Stone gave the album 4.5 stars. 1. Black Triangle: Starts out with sounds from space. After that some guy starts talkin through the whole intro. 2. Never Missin' a Beat: An organ comes in and a phat beat drops in. After a minute or so, it changes into a more funky beat. This is the longest song and this is a pretty good song. 3. Why Must I Feel Like Dat: Funky beat comes in and ATL sampled this from Atomic Dog by George Clinton. This is one of those tracks to bump in your fuckin trunk. 4. Commin' Up: I didn't like this song. I didn't like what they did with the piano in this track. 5. Pimpology 101: This is an interlude. Just one of those shout out songs. The beat is nice and slow. 6. YouTube - Call it what u want Tupac Ft Above The law: One of my favorite tracks from ATL. The beat is dope and so is the flow. 11. Process of Elimination (Untouchakickamurdaqtion) (featuring MC Ren): I thought this track was decent. It fit well with MC Ren because tracks like these are similar to MC Ren's material. 12. G's & Macoronies: I thought it was decent. Beat and flow are nothin to get hyped about. 13. G-Rupies Best Friend: Song about a groupies best friend. I thought this track was funny. 14. Mee Vs. My Ego: Another decent track with a decent beat/flow. 15. Outro: Ended the CD pretty good with a slow ass beat. Overall I give this CD........ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() *Notes*: I thought this CD was decent. Couple favorite tracks and a lot of decent tracks in my opinion makes up to havin 4 stars. I also liked the people that ATL have featured on their album (2Pac, Eazy-E, MC Ren). This CD is probably somethin you should have in your music library, iPod, or whatever it is you got.
