1942, the good ol’ times where movies still were movies, or so o_O Castle In The Desert seems to have one of those standard plots “Trapped-In-A-House-And-We-Get-Killed”, yet it might be worth the watch with a nice set of about 400 votes at imdb the movie scores around 7.6-ish

Synopsis: Paul Manderley, eccentric historian, and his wife, descendant of the Borgias, live in an isolated castle-like mansion in the Mojave Desert. When a guest suddenly collapses, Charlie Chan is invited to stay. As the standard mystery-mansion props come into play, and all means of outside communication are sabotaged, it becomes evident that one of the inhabitants has access to poisons and is prepared to use them…
